Robert from our stained glass department was invited to see the Diamond Jubilee Window in Westminster Hall. It comprises 1,500 pieces of glass and will be installed later this year as a gift from all members of parliament. British artist John Reyntiens, who created the window working with a team of experienced draftsmen, painters and technicians, said project was a collaborative one.
“I kind of felt like a ringmaster surrounded by people doing stuff I wanted them to do,” he said.
The window will remain on display until it is installed in the three central panels of the north window in Westminster Hall during planned restoration work starting later this year.
